"Ghost Ship"
In 1918, the crew of U-79 were en route to ambush the British Navy, but ended up enclosed in an iceberg. The cold temperatures caused the men to enter suspended animation, and the submarine was lost for about 60 years.
In the present, well after World War I had ended, the Calico crew discovered U-79, encased in ice. In order to study it, the Calico crew summoned Godzilla, who used used his fire breath to melt the surrounding ice.

Trivia
- U-79 shares a similar name with several other German submarines, including one directly named U-79.
- The fictional U-79 was trapped in ice towards the end of World War I, while the real-world U-79 was sank towards the beginning of World War II. Additionally, both ships were lost during an attempted attack on British ships.
- Quart Schmidt's warning about U+79's depth limit are largely ignored throughout the episode, as Godzilla stands taller than the depth and went very deep down.
