Plot

"Two Suns"

As a blinding light appears before the Vabaruda, Zagreth gloats that Godzilla Island will never see night again. The light source soars towards Earth. Torema awakens in her room to scorching heat. She looks outside to see two suns in the sky. The island's kaiju also look up in confusion. At G-Guard Headquarters, Lucas analyzes the new sun and Commander Besuke Jinguji quickly concludes Zagreth is responsible. Torema tries to attack the artificial sun in the Panna Torte, but the intense radiation it emits causes her instruments to fail and the ship to plunge towards the ground.

"Godzilla Island Dries Up"

Torema pulls up just before the Panna Torte can crash. Gorosaurus travels to Gabara's Pond to find it completely dried up, while King Caesar observes Rodan's Hot Spring in the same state. The temperature now exceeds 50 degrees Celsius. In the Monster Jail, Destoroyah and Megalon shock themselves against the bars of their cell. Torema is surprised to see them, having assumed both were dead, but Jinguji explains that G-Guard's science and technology team revived them in the hopes that they would change sides. Zagreth, meanwhile, orders the surface heat of the artificial sun increased to 4,000 degrees.

"Zagreth's Last Chance"

Zagreth's cackling is interrupted by the Giant Dark Emperor, who warns her that this is her final chance to conquer Earth. After he fades away, she waits for him to materialize again to get the last word in, then, when he fails to reappear, complains that the routine is like a game of Whack-a-Mole! He promptly manifests, terrifying her, but telling her only to spare him her groveling.

"Forest Fire Frenzy"

Godzilla observes a forest fire caused by the intense heat. Jinguji orders Fire Fighter Jet Jaguar into action. The smoke reaches the Monster Jail as Destoroyah and Megalon demand to be released. Jinguji reluctantly assents as Fire Fighter Jet Jaguar lands and begins extinguishing the blaze, only for the two monsters to pummel the mech. Godzilla arrives and aims an atomic breath at Destoroyah, who evades, letting Megalon take the hit instead.

"A Scorching Comeback"

Godzilla and Destoroyah grapple as the Panna Torte keeps Megalon away from Fire Fighter Jet Jaguar. The mech finishes putting out the fire as Godzilla fells Destoroyah. The evil kaiju tries to retaliate with an Oxygen Destroyer Ray, but the energy suppressant G-Guard injected him with prevents it from harming Godzilla. After another atomic breath connects with Destoroyah, Zagreth orders him and Megalon to retreat.

"The Artificial Sun's Weakness"

Lucas suddenly announces that he knows how to destroy the artificial sun: by targeting a "zero point" at its center with an anti-aircraft laser cannon. G-Guard fortunately possesses such a weapon, though it's a prototype that consumes a massive amount of electricity; the base would have to lose power to charge it up. Torema notes that the cannon would be vulnerable to energy attack while it charges, but Jinguji points out they have no other options. The cannon rises out of the ground, with Torema aiming it at the artificial sun. Zagreth quickly identifies it, ordering the recovered Destoroyah and Megalon back into action.

"Protect the Laser Cannon!"

The cannon's solar panels have brought its power up to 66%, and Torema is anxious to fire, but Jinguji urges patience. Jinguji calls upon Godzilla and Rodan to protect the cannon; Rodan battles Megalon in the air while Godzilla duels Destoroyah on the ground. This time, Destoroyah's Oxygen Destroyer Ray strikes Godzilla at full power, knocking him over, and he advances on the cannon.

"Fire, Torema!"

Jinguji orders all power from the base redirected to the cannon, quickly charging it up to full power, but warns Torema that they'll have to start again from zero if she misses. Just before she can fire, Destoroyah hits the cannon with an Oxygen Destroyer Ray, causing the laser to sail harmlessly past the artificial sun. Zagreth gloats and orders Destoroyah to press his advantage. Godzilla gets back up, but another Oxygen Destroyer Ray knocks him back down. Torema turns the cannon to target Destoroyah, despite its lack of power, as Jinguji pleads for her to evacuate.

"A Close Shave"

Rodan and Megalon fall out of the sky, striking Destoroyah before he can reach the cannon. With both villainous monsters downed, Torema charges up the laser cannon once more as Jinguji diverts all of the base's power, even the emergency power responsible for the air conditioning. Godzilla holds back Destoroyah as the cannon charges.

"Shoot for the Fake Sun!"

The laser cannon charges erratically as Rodan and Godzilla strive to defend it. Destoroyah dodges a blast of Godzilla's atomic breath which instead strikes one of the cannon's solar panels, giving it a huge boost of energy. Torema asks him to fire again, but Destoroyah tackles him. Rodan picks up Megalon and drops him on Destoroyah, giving Godzilla an opening. His second ray charges the cannon to 150%, and the laser it fires obliterates the artificial sun. A dismayed Zagreth calls for another retreat. Rain begins to fall on Godzilla Island as the monsters celebrate. Torema thanks Godzilla for making their victory possible.

Trivia

  • The artificial sun's "zero point" resembles the vulnerable thermal exhaust port of the Death Star in Star Wars (1977).
  • Similar to the previous story arc, Rodan is referred to once as "Radon" in the English YouTube subtitles for episode 91, despite his name being spelled correctly throughout the rest of the arc.
