Greece is a country in Southern and Eastern Europe. Its modern bounds are the southern portion of the Balkan Peninsula south of Albania, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria; it is bordered by Turkey to the east, and includes several islands (such as Crete) in the Mediterranean Sea. While it has appeared infrequently in kaiju media, its ancient past has been featured and referenced in them substantially.

Godzilla: Rage Across Time

In ancient times, people began to reject the Greek gods atop Mount Olympus for their lack of care for the people. One day, Godzilla came ashore after having killed Poseidon, causing great destruction to the city in his wake. He advanced towards Mount Olympus when he was engaged by Ares, but the King of the Monsters quickly vanquished the god of war. In order to stop Godzilla, Zeus sent the Hydra to battle him. However, after a brief battle, Godzilla killed the Hydra and destroyed Mount Olympus, killing all of the remaining Olympians except for Zeus. Enraged, Zeus vanquished Godzilla, but at the cost of all of his power. Having lost his godly stature, Zeus lived amongst the humans to learn and better understand them to atone for his past arrogance.
