Mechagodzilla appeared as part of a crowd of monsters alongside Bashu-Bashu, Gorosaurus, Anguirus, Radon, Rodan, Baragon, Ebirah, Miyarabi, Gezora and Maguma to watch the film the Three Godzilla Brothers had made. The film initially started without incident until Lei Lei suddenly crashed the premiere with her pawn Monster Zero, and set him loose to attack everyone, with Mechagodzilla being one of the monsters knocked away by his sheer size. Thankfully, the Shobijin suddenly appeared and summoned Mothra, who used her magic to bring the toys used in the film to life and weaponize them against the three-headed beast, successfully sending him into retreat.

Similar to nearly every other monster at the film premiere, Mechagodzilla stood no chance against the much larger Monster Zero and was knocked away with ease.
