"Chibi Gigan Loves Nature" (自然を愛するちびガイガン, Shizen o Aisuru Chibi Gaigan, lit. "Nature-Loving Chibi Gigan") is the 41st episode of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again and the 28th of its second season. Written by Taketo Shinkai and Yuki Hirokawa, it aired on Japanese television on October 9, 2024. An English-subtitled version followed on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel that October 16.
Plot
Chibi Gigan sits on a rock by a river, fishing with a rod replacing one of his claws, talking to himself about how much he likes fishing while making coffee for himself. Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Mechagodzilla arrive to make sure Chibi Gigan isn't causing trouble, bringing Chibi Minilla with them. Chibi Godzilla confronts Chibi Gigan, asking him to act like a bad guy so they could treat him like one and asking if Chibi Gigan forgot his orders to destroy Monster Island, which it turns out he had. Chibi Gigan insists that is still his plan, but when Chibi Godzilla asks why he's hanging out, he admits that he has come to enjoy Monster Island's natural beauty. Chibi Godzilla believes it is strange since Chibi Gigan is a robot monster, which he agrees with, saying that all living things come from the Earth and return to the Earth. Chibi Minilla points out that he won't since he's metal before Chibi Godzilla asks Chibi Gigan what's special about Monster Island. Chibi Gigan mentions the beautiful water and crisp air, but Chibi Godzilla says it's like that on every island and starts listing negative things about Monster Island, like the swamps, limited grocery selection, fat rats, and stinky logs. Chibi Gigan gets offended, berating Chibi Godzilla for disrespecting Monster Island, while Chibi Godzilla says his opinion counts since he lives there. As they argue, Chibi Gigan reiterates his love for the island while Chibi Godzilla starts charging his atomic breath in response, declaring that he will destroy the island. An exasperated Chibi Mechagodzilla concludes that the tables have turned before both Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Gigan snap out of it, the latter saying he wants to stay. Chibi Minilla points out the contradictory nature of wanting to destroy the place he wants to live, and Chibi Gigan labels her a naïve child before admitting she's entirely correct and apologizes. A bird lands on Chibi Gigan's shoulder, who swaps his other arm out for a birdcage. Chibi Mechagodzilla finds it strange for Chibi Gigan to have such an attachment, but Chibi Gigan says he can change his arms into many weapons, such as a light, a bottle opener, and a sandwich maker. Chibi Gigan notes all of these are essential for camping, which he wants to use to set up a camping spot for himself. Chibi Gigan suddenly remembers his objective to take over the island and Chibi Mechagodzilla, and when the latter refuses to allow him to do so, Chibi Gigan attaches a double-pronged chainsaw to his arm and says he has to do things the hard way. Though the other chibi monsters are unnerved, Chibi Gigan peacefully goes to cut down a tree with the chainsaw to build a cabin for himself.
