"Godzilla King Showdown" (ゴジラ王決定戦, Gojira Ō Ketteisen) is the 45th episode of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again and the 32nd of its second season. Written by Taketo Shinkai and Yuki Hirokawa, it aired on Japanese television on November 6, 2024. An English-subtitled version followed on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel that November 20.
Plot
Chibi Godzilla gathers Chibi Mechagodzilla, Chibi Ghidorah, and Chibi Mothra to announce the first ever "Godzilla King." He explains to a questioning Chibi Ghidorah that every November 3 is Godzilla Day, and Godzilla King is the quiz he prepared for the occasion. Chibi Godzilla jumps up and strikes a pose, announcing that the quiz has begun. Chibi Mechagodzilla asks about the pose, disappointing Chibi Godzilla, who explains it's the "Sheeh", which Godzilla struck in Invasion of Astro-Monster. The other chibi monsters think Godzilla dancing is uncharacteristic, but Chibi Godzilla cheerfully tells them he did the Sheeh five times. He then poses the first question: what is Godzilla's name in kanji? Chibi Mechagodzilla is unaware he had one, while Chibi Mothra can barely tell the difference between the three options. Chibi Ghidorah's middle head guesses the third option, "呉爾羅" (Gojira), due to the other two options looking like King Ghidorah and Mothra's names, respectively. Chibi Godzilla sadly admits he's right and introduces Chibi Hedorah to asking the next question: is Hedorah's weakness celery, drying, or cleaning companies? Chibi Mechagodzilla remarks he didn't even know Hedorah had a weakness, while Chibi Mothra chooses drying out due to Chibi Hedorah complaining about how dry it is. Chibi Mechagodzilla gets excited when Chibi Godzilla says the next question involves Mechagodzilla's weapons, specifically the one fired from his nose. Chibi Mechagodzilla complains about the two options, "Booger Bomber" and "Snot Splasher", before picking the correct option, "Destro-Fire." Chibi Mechagodzilla complains that the question was too easy. Chibi Godzilla announces the fourth question, only to dropkick Chibi Mechagodzilla without warning. When Chibi Mothra asks why, he gives her a point for saying the word "dropkick", which Godzilla performed in Godzilla vs. Megalon. Chibi Mechagodzilla recovers, and Chibi Godzilla asks the fifth question: if the others noticed anything odd today. The other three monsters are confused, and Chibi Godzilla reveals that he has been changing sizes throughout the episode without anyone noticing, just like Godzilla's changed his size throughout his various media appearances. Chibi Godzilla doubles in size, shocking the others.
