"Pepper Farm Up in Smoke" (燃え上がれピーマン畑, Moeagare Pīman Hatake, lit. "Burn the Pepper Field") is the 27th episode of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again and the 14th of its second season. Written by Taketo Shinkai and Yuki Hirokawa, it aired on Japanese television on July 3, 2024. An English-subtitled version followed on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel that July 10.
Plot
Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Rodan announce their annual vegetable harvest to Chibi Mechagodzilla, who is impressed. He notes that Chibi Mothra is flying higher than usual, to which she replies that she doesn't like bugs, much to Chibi Mechagodzilla's shock. He tries to point out that she is a bug monster, but backs down when she takes offense. Chibi Godzilla grabs a pepper and puts emphasis on how bountiful the harvest is before razing the entire pepper field with his fire breath, to Chibi Mechagodzilla's shock and dismay. Chibi Godzilla exclaims he hates green peppers, though Chibi Mechagodzilla remarks he looks like one and asks why he would plant them in the first place if he doesn't like them. Chibi Godzilla says he didn't, and Chibi Mothra explains that every year they plant many different vegetable seeds, but they always grow into peppers. Chibi Godzilla then says he likes green peppers when they're stuffed with meat and Chibi Rodan says he eats the burnt ones, leaving Chibi Mechagodzilla relieved they didn't go to waste. Continuing the harvest, Chibi Godzilla burns down the pepper-riddled tomato crop and the actual green pepper crop before stopping in front of the multicolored pepper crop. Chibi Rodan insists they'll have better luck next year, but Chibi Godzilla says he'll build a device to stop birds from eating the other seeds and tasks Chibi Mothra with preparing the soil, though she passes the responsibility to Chibi Rodan. Chibi Rodan also doesn't want to do it, and Chibi Godzilla forces Chibi Mechagodzilla to plow the fields for the rest of the day. Chibi Rodan then goes to sow the seeds, which Chibi Godzilla notes he does every year. Chibi Mechagodzilla points out to Chibi Godzilla that Chibi Rodan is the only one who likes peppers, is in charge of planting the seeds, and only has one type of seed. Outraged, Chibi Godzilla shoots him down with his catapult.
